Trust and AI (and a suspiciously familiar favicon)

The cost of creating information has fallen to near zero, which makes verification a skill rather than an afterthought and makes trust the scarce commodity. In property, trust has always been the backbone of business development, so technology that removes or minimises it does not get adopted regardless of its capability. Antlar's position is to apply AI in strata without removing human decision-making and accountability, eroding privacy, or diminishing the role of professionals.

Over Easter, someone shared a link to a competing strata solution with me. What was interesting was that the website appeared to be constructed exclusively with AI, included pricing (with a "most popular" option), and a suspiciously familiar favicon.

The website was a useful reminder that communicating with genuine intent has never mattered more. It also got me thinking about trust and why I think it will remain the most important currency in business.

What happens when information costs nothing to produce?

We are living in an age where the cost to create information is near zero. This makes verifying everything (current events, video evidence, financial reporting) more important and requires new skills. As AI-enthusiasm translates into new business ideas, I am noticing how critical traditional decision-making processes are becoming.

Why trust is the constraint in property

In property, trust is the backbone of all business development, from deal-making on the strength of a handshake to implementing new systems. It's how most business has always been done, and technology that purports to remove or minimise trust won't be adopted.

A positive example is the Forbury platform, which standardised commercial property valuation into a single, supported solution, giving valuers and transaction managers confidence in defendable numbers and making that trust commercially valuable.

Where that leaves us

Strata is no different. At Antlar, we are bullish on AI and its application in strata, but not at the cost of:

  • removing human decision-making and accountability
  • eroding privacy
  • diminishing the role of professionals

Our goal is to make senior work more senior by removing the mundane, task-based elements of strata management so that an AI-forward manager can deliver a consistent, high-quality service at scale.
